KC native Jack Blackburn recently earned Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Science degrees in Performance and Music Business from Truman State University, where he sang with Cantoria under Dr. Mark Jennings and with the True Men A Cappella group. He has performed in opera, musical theatre, and concert productions, earning recognition in numerous music competitions, and was named Truman State University's 2026 Presser Scholar for his commitment to community, music, and academic achievement.

Tara Boydston is a mezzo-soprano from Kansas City, Missouri. She earned bachelor’s degrees in vocal performance and psychology from the University of Missouri, where she studied with Christine Seitz. She performed with University Singers and Show-Me Opera, appearing as Hermia in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Marcellina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. Solo credits include Abrahamsen’s Efterårssang with the Mizzou New Music Ensemble and Mozart’s Requiem in Vienna.

Paul Davidson joined the Chorale in 1995; he was a soloist on All-Night Vigil (Rachmaninoff) and Passion Week (Grechaninov). He was guest cantor with the Cecilia Ensemble in Augusta, GA, for its North American premiere of Dobri Hristov’s Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom (I), and a recent soloist locally for the William Baker Festival Singers and Musica Sacra. He works as a singer at Kantorei of Kansas City, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral.

Kat Dressman moved from Kentucky to Kansas City in July 2026 and works with the Johnson County Community College Foundation. She previously sang with the Lexington Singers under Dr. Jefferson Johnson, the Aspen Choral Society under Paul Dankers, and the Lafayette High School choir programs, where Ryan Marsh and Laura Howard nurtured her love of music and theory. She is glad to be near her family, including her nephew Leo, and her cat, Country Gravy.

Caleb Haselhuhn is Adjunct Professor of Voice at the University of Missouri, where he teaches applied voice, opera workshop, and diction. He is an ABD DMA candidate in Voice Performance at the University of Iowa, where he earned an MA in Voice Performance. He also holds an MAE in Music Education and a magna cum laude BA in Music from Truman State University. His choral credits include Vocal Artists of Iowa, UI Kantorei, Chorale Midwest, Chamber Singers of Iowa City, and TSU Cantoria.

Melanie joined the Chorale in 2005. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the Univ. of Tennessee and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Millikin Univ. Her performing credits include Lady Psyche on the Newport Classics recording of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Princess Ida, and roles with Ohio Light Opera, Knoxville Opera, and Opera New York. Melanie is the Director of Worship Arts at Leawood UMC. She lives with her husband Brian and children Caleb and Anna in Overland Park, KS.

Dr. Bryan Pinkall is the Director of the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance at K-State. He earned his Doctorate from UMKC and was an Ellen Battell Stoeckell Fellow at Yale University. He served as Manager of Performance Operations and Direction for the Emmy-winning Olympic Opening Ceremonies in 2014 & 2016. Bryan's performance career includes solo recitals at Sydney Opera House, Lincoln Center, and Kennedy Center. He was a featured soloist at the grand opening of the Kauffman Center in 2011.

Anna Kate Scott recently earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Texas Woman’s University, specializing in opera and musical theatre. She sang with the TWU Concert Choir under Dr. Joni Jensen, including at the 2025 ACDA National Conference, and has toured nationally. She has worked with composers Libby Larsen, Katarina Gimon, and Paul David Thomas and is a member of the Kansas City Symphony Chorus.

Julia has performed with groups including NewEar Ensemble, KC Puccini Fest in the title roles of Tosca and Madama Butterfly, Lawrence Opera Theatre, Spire Chamber Ensemble, and the Lyric Opera of Kansas City as a principal artist and chorus member. Julia was a semifinalist in the 2005 Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions. She appears as the alto soloist on the Chorale’s album Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil, which Gramophone magazine described her voice as as being “the genuine article."

Margaret Slavinsky holds a Master of Sacred Music in vocal performance from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Music from Lawrence University Conservatory. She made her professional opera debut as the Shepherd in South Bend Lyric Opera’s Tosca and also performed Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica. A former member of the South Bend Chamber Singers, she has appeared as soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle.

J. Richard Walker is a singer, instrumentalist, arranger/composer, and professional voiceover artist who has created music for theatrical and film scores, directed various singing ensembles, and provided music direction for numerous theatrical productions. Richard also performs regularly with local choirs, performing groups and pit orchestras. He is recently retired after 20 years working at the University of Kansas.
